The status quo of gender discrimination and harassment in schools is harmful to all students’ educational experience. Without an environment in which they can feel safe, students’ grades and self esteem are at risk and they are vulnerable to feelings of fear and violation. Young people are missing out on their educations because of in-school sexual harassment. Join us in our fight to make NYC school safer for all students!

The Coalition for Gender Equity in Schools seeks to collaborate with youth, educators, parents, activists, and policy makers to raise awareness about the impact of sexual harassment in New York City schools.  Youth are involved at all levels of the Coalition, and we value their experience and expertise in the area of in-school sexual harassment and gender-based violence.  They are essential to our mission of creating safer school environments for all NYC students.
